"But seek the well-being of the city where I have sent you."
(Jeremiah 29:7)

First Fruits Food Bags

These are put together based on voluntarily donated food items. They are designed to give emergency food relief to those in financial need. This outreach is one of this congregation's works of benevolence and it has led to many opportunities for sharing the Good News of Jesus.

Park Singing

Several times throughout the year, we gather in one of the local parks or other public areas to sing praises to God and invite any who are present to join our future worship gatherings.

Service Activities

Some of our service work is directed towards our community and its needs. We participate every year in the Enterprise Day of Service in March. In recent years, we have provided meals for our police and fire departments and for volunteer workers around the city on the Day of Service. We also organize frequent work days at Camp Wiregrass to clean the facilities and do necessary maintenance work which keeps the camp operational.

Wiregrass Christian Academy

This is a private Christian preschool and elementary school located on the College Avenue Church of Christ campus. While it is also a mission work which we support financially, members also give their time in getting to know and supporting our students and their families. Several of our members teach at the school. Others serve on the Board of Directors. Others volunteer to help with school activities such as field trips and family outings.

“A Little Coffee and a Lot of Jesus”

Every Tuesday morning at 8:00, we provide light breakfast food and drinks, have prayer for the teachers, students, and families of Wiregrass Christian Academy, and do an overview of one book of the Bible. We invite our community to join us and give special invitation to parents who are dropping their children off for school.

Camp Wiregrass

This camp in Chancellor, AL brings in children from 1st-12th Grades in order to let them grow closer to God in a safe and fun environment. The College Avenue church has been a primary sponsor of the camp since its creation. Several members of our congregation serve on the camp's Board of Directors. Others counsel the youth in the cabins each summer. Others volunteer their time to cook, clean facilities, or do necessary maintenance.
